FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How can therapy help?
Therapy helps you make sense of painful experiences and the impact they’ve had on your mind, body, and relationships. It offers a safe, supportive space to process trauma, rebuild trust in yourself, and gently move from surviving to healing — at your own pace.
How long will I need to participate in therapy before I feel better?
Healing is not one-size-fits-all. Some people begin to feel relief after a few sessions, while others need more time to unpack trauma and rebuild safety within themselves. The length of therapy depends on your goals, your history, and your pace — and that’s okay.

What matters most is that you’re not doing it alone. I’ll be here to walk alongside you, supporting your healing every step of the way.
Each session is a space just for you — to talk, reflect, feel, or just be. In our first session, we’ll get to know each other, talk about what brought you here, and begin exploring your goals for therapy.
Over time, sessions may include:
-
Processing past experiences at your pace
-
Learning grounding and coping strategies
-
Exploring thoughts, emotions, and relationship patterns
-
Reconnecting with parts of yourself impacted by trauma
You’re in control of your healing — nothing is forced. I’ll offer support, tools, and presence as we move toward healing together.
May I include family members in my therapy sessions?
At this time, I provide both individual and group therapy to clients. I understand that, for many, the deepest wounds come from those who were supposed to offer protection. Therapy with me is a space centered on your healing—guided by your pace, your voice, and your truth
How much do you charge?
My standard fee is $150 per 50-minute individual therapy session for private pay clients. I also accept several insurance plans. If you’d like to use your insurance, I’m happy to verify your benefits and discuss your options. A limited number of sliding fee scale spots may be available based on need through Open Path Collective. I am currently licensed with Aetna, United Healthcare-Optum, and Anthem-Carelon insurances.
Why Consider Private Pay?
Why Some Clients Choose Private Pay Over Insurance
Choosing to pay out-of-pocket for therapy offers a higher level of privacy and control over your mental health care. When using insurance, a formal diagnosis is typically required, and that diagnosis becomes part of your permanent health record. In some cases, this information may be disclosed when applying for certain jobs, security clearances, life insurance, or other high-responsibility roles.
Private pay allows you to:
• Avoid having a mental health diagnosis on your insurance record
• Receive care focused on wellness and personal growth, not just diagnosable conditions
• Have greater freedom in choosing the type, frequency, and duration of therapy
• Maintain full confidentiality without third-party involvement
While insurance can make therapy more affordable, many clients value the discretion and flexibility that self-pay provides.
